Abstract :
The mathematical model of the wood-based panel glue feed system, using VVVF motor as flow control, is established through analyzing its characteristic in depth. The merits and drawbacks of the traditional open loop proportional control and closed loop PID control are presented by MATLAB simulation, and the influence of average filter to the performance of these control methods is generalized. Hence, a self-adaptive control method, which is mainly based on open loop proportional control along with PID control for parameter tuning, is introduced and can be successfully applied to the intelligent devices of wood-based panel glue feed system. Both the simulation results and the applications show that the new control method is characterized by high control precision, smooth output, well adaptability, no need of manual parameter adjustment and protecting well to actuating mechanism
