Abstract
Despite of the accelerated rise of the storage devices, the need to compressing the data in a retrievable state is still increasing. The reason behind this is the limited capacity of transmission channels and the increasing amount of the data generated either on the personal level or the scientific organizations level. And hence, improving the techniques of source coding and data compression saves the cost of data transmission and storage beside the power consumption. Besides, it enhances the QOS of the real time systems. Two methods are proposed to enhance the efficiency using XNOR function and relative encoding for data samples. Different text and audio files are used to evaluate the proposed techniques. The decrement of compressed file is demonstrated by about 50% less than file size compressed using only LZ technique in conjunction with about 45% less processing time for text files.
