Abstract
With the aim of outstanding optic characteristic in high infrared transmission and upconversion visible light emission, a new kind of bismuth-tellurite based glass and its application is described here. Firstly, the varying density and refractive index are drawn out with bismuth content increasing, then, some optic parameters are calculated with Judd-Ofelt and McCumber theory, lastly, the spectroscopic properties of the IR emitting fluorescence and upconversion emission are concluded here when pumped with 975nm LD laser. In conclusion, it can be drawn out that this kind of bismuth tellurite based glasses is suitable to using as upconversion optic laser material, as well as optic communication element
