Abstract :
This paper proposes a new method to analyze faulted double-circuit lines for the purpose of protection coordination. The method is based on six-sequence component theory. The proposed algorithm can be used for analyzing any types of faults involving double-circuit lines, including faults with symmetrical and asymmetrical fault impedances. The effectiveness of the proposed method has been verified by using simulation studies and by comparing the results with those obtained from the EMTP simulation. In summary, the proposed method is a general-purpose and flexible method for analyzing faulted double-circuit lines. It can be easily included into the existing symmetrical components based fault analysis programs
