Abstract :
This paper proposed a stacked stepped impedance resonator design by using the basic stepped impedance resonator frequency controllable characteristics and stacked configuration in forming a band pass filter, and in further extension with some additional open stubs to suppress higher harmonic frequencies. The circuit analysis was performed by cascading the individual transmission matrices (ABCD) corresponding to the transmission lines, coupled lines and obtained the overall transmission matrix (ABCD) and finally converted to scattering parameters for comparison with the measured scattering parameters. The circuit simulation used the electromagnetic simulation software IE3D, the layout was fabricated on FR-4 substrate, the measured and simulated results are in good agreement within the frequency of interest.
