Abstract :
This paper presents a ubiquitous marketing environment using pervasive technologies to facilitate added-value services in lodging operations. The key is to integrate comprehensive technologies and ubiquitous marketing services, facilitating an added-value system, to provide and manage added-valued marketing services. Added-valued marketing services are studied regarding both website and Smartphone application. One prototype website is a “Reservation Management and Marketing Added-value System,” and another is a “Ubiquitous Protector System for Travelers” for Smartphone. The added-value services provide consumers, lodging personnel and third-party services providers with benefits regarding usability, support, and development without being limited by time and location. Regarding the consumers, lodging personnel can track the whereabouts of consumers to not only ensure traveler safety but also market tours. Regarding the lodging personnel, the web system can promote cooperation between different businesses. For example, lodging personnel could have advanced cooperation with the manager of a scenic spot. Regarding the third-party services providers, the integrated system provides them a convenient way for marketing purposes, such as announcing preferential programs and keeping favorites (interests) of each consumer. The system not only enables a direct connection with the manager and services providers, but it also provides consumers instant access to the services and equipment. Additionally, the system increases the quality of service and facilitates the easy achievement of maximum efficiency. Based on developments in the lodging industry, this paper provides a study case for additional reference value.
