Abstract :
A simple mathematical model indicated that the potential advantages of hopping were considerable, so it was decided to develop a more sophisticated Monte Carlo simulation. In the process, some interesting results have been obtained which are equally applicable to non-hopping systems. As with any simulation, some simplifications must be made to reduce the complexity of the problem to a level that can be tackled successfully without the use of excessive computing resources. It is inevitable that some of these simplifications and their underlying assumptions will be open to challenge. The features that have been incorporated in the simulation and the limitations are discussed
