Abstract :
In this paper, a novel prototype of three-phase AC-DC active power converter operating using a zero voltage soft switching sinusoidal PWM scheme is presented, which incorporates a new transformer-assisted resonant tank DC link (TQRDCL) topology. The operating principle of the TQRDCL circuit is described including unique features. Its design procedure is discussed in terms of the theoretical analysis. A three-phase soft-switched active power converter with a supply voltage sensorless estimation strategy is proposed from a theoretical point of view. The simulated operation characteristics of this power converter system, which incorporate the new prototype of TQRDCL circuit and an advanced control implementation, is demonstrated as compared with hard-switching-based PWM power converter systems
