Abstract :
The interconnection system proposed here, utilizes D-shaped multimode waveguide structures, which are embedded in a planar substrate. The flat side of the D-structure is realized as the substrate surface. In analogy to D-fibers we will use the expression D-waveguides (D-WG). Due to this D-WG structure all the operations of guiding and beam splitting can be realized
