Abstract :
We demonstrate the good temperature characteristics and the high resistance against optical feedback of 1550-nm spot size convertor integrated (SS-DFB) laser. Low driving current, 74mA for 10 mW, is achieved even at 85 C. High resistance against optical feedback is demonstrated, which make possible isolator-free optical modules. High reliability of SS-DFB lasers is also confirmed with aging tests at 60 C
