Abstract
The upper and lower bounds for capacity of hybrid multi-channel wireless networks with single-interface are investigated. The network under consideration consists of two types of nodes, base stations and ad hoc nodes, and base stations are connected by high-speed wireless networks or wired networks, ad hoc nodes can communicated with each other by ad hoc ways or the help of base station node. Moreover, each node is equipped with one interface where the number of channels is c, and n is the number of ad hoc nodes, c = O(log n). We show that the switch capacity of interface has great influence on the capacity of multi-channel hybrid networks, and if the interface is fixed on one channel, the network capacity is Theta(nW/c log(n)), which means lots of capacity loss.
