Abstract :
Carpooling is the concept of people sharing a vehicle for a ride when their departure and destination locations are similar. Dynamic car pool [1] is the dynamic coordination of ride offerings and ride requests based on the, in real time created, transportation and offering needs. Taxi pool [2] is a mode of transport that falls between private transport and conventional bus transport. The routes are fixed or semi-fixed, but with the added convenience of stopping anywhere to pick or drop passengers and not having fixed time schedules. Positioning Systems are systems for finding the location of a mobile device using several different positioning technologies. This paper describes how Positioning Systems can be utilized in order to support a dynamic network of car and taxi pool services that will maximize the exploitation of empty seats traveling with tenable advantages.
