Abstract :
This paper introduces a novel magnet saturation controllable reactor utilizing thyristors. With higher and higher tolerance voltage of power electronic elements, this reactor was used in ultra or extra-high voltage power system. The configuration and essential operation principle and states of the controllable reactor are presented in this paper. Its mathematics modeling is established. Based on the model, the equivalent electric circuit is derived.
