Abstract :
In this paper, a novel push-push VCO using phase shifters is presented. This circuit incorporates the phase shifters into the positive feedback loops that determine the oscillation frequency. The phase shifter consists of a pi/2 hybrid circuit and varactor diodes. By experiment, the developed push-push VCO achieves a comparatively wide tuning frequency range of 390 MHz. The phase noise is -96.2 to -100.2 dBc/Hz at the offset frequency of 1 MHz in 15 GHz band.
