Abstract
In this paper, we employ a novel demodulation scheme to monitor the dynamic perturbation of a fiber Bragg grating (FBG) sensor using an long-period grating (LPG) pair with erbium-doped fiber (EDF) inserted between the two LPGs. The experimental results show that the proposed technique features high resolution and much more immunity to temperature perturbation compared to the conventional unbalanced Mach-Zehnder interferometer (MZI)
