Abstract :
A discussion is given on the influence that objectives and constraints have on decision making in an organisation and how their effect on organisation ecology can be modified by complex information-decision-action systems (IDAS). The focus of the authors is to demonstrate how the objectives and constraints can act as a filtering process on the environmental data, they in turn determine the type and evolution of organisations and then how these organisations make their decisions. How these decisions are made will govern the actions of the systems population
