The development of a flexible assembly consultancy tool

Presents details of work carried out in the initial feasibility study phase of the DTI and industry funded DEFACTO (Development of a Flexible Assembly Consultancy Tool) project. The results of the feasibility study are being taken forward to the collaborative EUREKA FAMOS project aimed ultimately at the commercial exploitation of a computer-based FA consultancy tool, together with an associated methodology, capable of assisting its users in identifying, evaluating and prioritising flexible assembly (FA) opportunities.
