Abstract :
We show that optical O-CDM networks based on wavelength/time (V/T) matrix codes offer the advantages of (WDM) wavelength multiplication and enhanced capacity (bits/second/Hz) in the dense WDM limit. The O-CDM capacity exceeds that of WDM with non-return-to-zero (NRZ) modulation and WDM/TDM with return-to-zero (RZ) modulation in this limit. These features of O-CDM are due, in part, to the fact that the W/T matrix codes naturally support wavelength and time slot re-use. The matrix codes used here are folded pseudo-orthogonal Golomb rulers
