Abstract
If the reactive power of the load is changing rapidly, then a suitable fast response compensator is needed. Capacitors and inductors are passive devices that generator or absorb reactive power. In this paper the effect of reactive power control equipment, include shunt capacitive compensation and inductive shunt compensation, improve stability is investigate. The proposed model uses the two-port of the line and line parameters. Simulation results show the effect of shunt compensation on damping of power system oscillations.
