Abstract
Recently there has been a lot of interest in the use of the subsurface radar in search of various buried objects. The use of this facility has however been limited due to the distortions that these images have. Several authors have in the past reported methods that correct these distortions. All these algorithms give only limited inversions in areas close to the target that have been used to get the pattern. In particular none of these methods perform well in several targets of various depths. Since the 1970´s algebraic reconstruction of images has been discussed in image processing literature. Its use has however been limited due to the large matrix that result from these methods. The author describes a way of overcoming this limitation and describe how this method has been used to correct subsurface radar images successfully
