Abstract
The authors describe a three-dimensional method for recognizing anatomical structures straightforwardly from a set of multiscale MRI brain images. The proposed three-dimensional recognition method utilizes a three-dimensional standard brain atlas as the topological database. The method is applied to recognition of the ventricle, and the results demonstrate that the method can imitate the recognition process of doctors successfully
