Abstract
The authors describe a system which has been produced for the automatic visual measurement of the external shape of the body. The system is based on a low cost frame store with 512×256 pixels. An image is grabbed in the time of a single frame and then transferred into the memory of the host computer for processing. The research required a computer which is fast and of relatively low cost. For this reason an Acorn Archimedes computer which uses a 32 bit RISC Microprocessor was used. The computer´s monitor was used to display images
