  • Abstract
    A model of mobile radio propagation over buildings is proposed, enabling prediction of sector median field strength and its variability with varying building setups. The model predicts diffraction over building rooftops by combining ray methods with a novel method of multiple knife edge diffraction calculation suitable for applications requiring rapid computation. This technique is rapid and flexible enough to permit evaluation of the slow fading effects caused by variations in building height and position. An example of the effect of statistical variations in building height is included
