Title :
Progress in Water Quality Monitoring Based on Remote Sensing and GIS
Abstract :
This paper reviews the progress of the application of RS and GIS integration technology and the design of integration system in water quality monitoring domain. Key aspects of available remote sensing techniques and the present application domain of water quality monitoring by remote sensing applications are briefly summarized. Special attention has been focused on the main principles of using remote sensing to monitor water quality, and the main retrieved algorithms and available sataellite data sources. Recent advances are examined and limitations of water environment remote sensing and the future research prospect are discussed.
