Abstract
In this paper, we examine the signal transmission characteristics of an ultra wideband (UWB) system. First, we describe the basic characteristics of a UWB system. Then we describe the system configuration of the transmitting and receiving devices and the data modulation and demodulation scheme, and evaluate the quality of the signal transmissions using the Bit Error Rate (BER). We examined the case when there is a synchronization misalignment between the transmitting and receiving devices. We proposed the Delay Locked Loop (DLL) in order to improve the BER performance for controlling the synchronization misalignment.
