Abstract :
This paper presents a fuzzy controller for improving Fault Ride-Through (FRT) capability of variable speed wind turbines (WTs). The controller is designed in order to compensate the voltage at the point of common coupling by controlling the active and reactive power generated by WTs. Simulations are carried out on a real 37-bus Italian weak distribution system. The results show that the proposed controller can improve the FRT capability in several real cases.
