Abstract
This study presents a method that linearizes the radiation integral relating surface distortions and radiated field, which in turn determines the required distortions needed to achieve a desired pattern. To assure that this pattern is feasible for a particular reflector geometry, a sinusoidal interpolation from desired coverage data and a projection to an orthonormal field basis is used. The resulting matrix system is ill-conditioned so it is necessary to use a regularization method in order to solve the system. Initial results have shown that the method can be applied successfully in order to synthesize simple shaped patterns, showing fast and accurate convergence.
