Abstract :
The turbo principle applied to channel estimation is considered. We present two iterative channel estimation schemes with soft decision feedback for the CDMA system. We also discuss joint channel estimation and soft output from a RAKE receiver and decoder method. The joint channel estimation and decoder technique effectively improves the performance of channel estimation and decoder by taking advantage of information exchange between different units in a communication system. Simulation results show that these two schemes can effectively improve the performance of a WCDMA system by soft information after RAKE receiver or decoder.
