  • Abstract
The authors present an application of a multivariable self-tuning controller to a 160 MW oil-fired drum boiler turbine system. The controller is based on multivariable generalised predictive control and is used to control three outputs: drum pressure, output power and drum water level. Weighting strategies between different loops have been discussed. Simulation studies, which include large changes of operating conditions, show the controller provides good performance
