  • Abstract
    In 1978 China Light´s power system had a peak demand of 1572 MW and was isolated from its neighbours on Hong Kong Island and Guangdong Province. In 1991 its internal peak demand is expected to be around 4400 MW and interconnections totalling 1000 MVA capacity exist with Guangdong Province and 720 MVA with Hongkong Electric. The authors detail the establishment of the interconnections, the benefits incurred as well as the operational problems which have had to be solved
