Abstract :
MEMS actuated reconfigurable reflectarray element design has been demonstrated which can be used to synthesize the scattered wavefront adaptively. The reflectarray element - patch with variable length slot was characterized in detail. Certain design issues were investigated. RF MEMS switches were mounted on the slot and the sample was tested for reconfigurablity. A simulation model of the switch was designed and good agreement between measurement and simulation results was observed.
