Abstract
The detection and evaluation of stenoses are important health issues. Doppler measurements are the main ultrasonic tool used by physicians for this purpose. However, it appears that the medical diagnoses are performed thanks to rather subjective criteria. We propose another investigation allowed by new ultrasonic procedures. We intend to evaluate the repercussion of the wall disease on its elastic behaviour thanks to an analysis of its motion during the cardiac cycle. This motion is measured by CVI like algorithms (time correlation techniques) applied to ultrasound signals reflected by the arterial walls. Modeling corresponding to the pressure wave propagation modification is described. Dynamic motion and compression images are shown as well as their interpretation in terms of propagation alteration
