  • Abstract
The control of line impedance and a phase-shifter and its analysis using a machine-flux based simulation program is described. A machine-flux based simulation program is explained. Since the program uses machine-fluxes as its main variables and models nonlinear load as a controlled impedance, power flow can be calculated by AC network calculation. Several dynamic simulations are executed using the developed program, to study a multiple load flow solution problem and the improvement of system stability by controlling shifted angles of phase-shifters or impedances of transmission lines. In the first study, a dynamic simulation on Klos and Kerner´s three node power system model is conducted to validate the proposed algorithm. In the second study, the authors examine how to improve power system stability by controlling the phase-shifter´s angle or the impedance of the transmission line in a model system with a generator and an infinite bus connected by two transmission lines
