Abstract :
An extensive end-to-end system test of China´s first ±500 kV HVDC line, the Gezhouba to Shanghai HVDC project, was completed in August, 1990. The items and results of this test are discussed. Several important events which occurred during the test as well as their reason and effects are described. Same valuable experiences are also discussed
