Abstract :
This paper is an overview of the shortcomings of a conventional dual trade program when a large percentage of engineering technicians require to be apprenticed. The steps taken in the development of an alternate solution which is custom fit for individual pulp/paper plants are also detailed. The advantages associated with the Pay for Knowledge Program developed are also given.
