Abstract
Because of the practical significance of evaluating and sensing the extent of harmonic pollution in modern power systems, a new multi-station monitoring system is being developed for harmonic penetration studies. The design requirements and features are described. A distribution network with a major nonlinear load is physically simulated in the laboratory and examined, as a means to demonstrate the usefulness and effectiveness of the distributed monitoring system
