Abstract :
We propose a miniaturized printed monopole antenna at 2.4 GHz ISM band by using on an ultra slow-wave transmission line built on a four-layer PCB. The antenna is one third as long as a normal straight printed monopole, and demonstrates 550 MHz impedance bandwidth without additional tuning circuit. The proposed volume integrated antenna should be useful in wireless communication systems for local access networks (WLAN) to miniaturize wireless products.
