On behalf of the organizing committee, we would like to welcome you to the 2011 Symposium on VLSI Technology in Kyoto. The VLSI Symposium has long been recognized as one of the premiere technical conferences showcasing the latest advancements in semiconductor technology. We are very grateful that we are able to hold this symposium despite the recent tragic earthquake in Japan that affected many people worldwide.
