Abstract :
The application of Electromagnetic band-gap (EBG) structure as the ground of micro-strip filter is investigated in this letter. The suppression to the effect of higher harmonic in the EBG ground structure micro-strip filter is evaluated, while different EBG parameter is discussed. An EBG ground C-band parallel coupling micro-strip band-pass filter is realized. The measured performance matched well with the calculated results. The newly proposed parallel coupled micro-strip with PBG ground structure makes the filter much suitable for small-sized integration assembly, wide band and mass production.
