Abstract :
A three-dimensional ultrasound display system where 3-D ultrasonic echo information in the human body can be obtained in a short time is described. A compact, echo-data acquisition scanner was developed. When combined with a conventional ultrasonic diagnostic instrument, this 3-D scanner can obtain one 3-D domain of echo data in the body in only 4 s. The system was hospital tested. Examples of the 3-D ultrasonic images produced are included
