Abstract
A novel single-phase PFC circuit operating in high frequency for ASD Air-conditioner is proposed. Comparing to the conventional boost PFC, its efficiency is higher especially when the input AC voltage is low, and it is easy to substitute for the conventional AC/DC circuit used in an air-conditioner without any regulation of other part of ASD air-conditioner. A 2 kW prototype is implemented. The experimental results show that when the input AC voltage is 220 V and the output power is 1.05 kW, the measured THD is 10.26% with PF of 0.994. The converter can work perfectly in a broad input AC voltage range of 170 V∼260 V.
