Abstract
The authors describe accelerated storage tests (devised by the Battelle Institute) on D-2 metal particle video tape. The need for tests arose when the archival stability of the magnetic tapes was questioned. The tapes were supplied by Fuji, Maxell, Sony and Ampex. Measurement of error rate and magnetic remnance showed no detectable change in the equivalent of 14 years in a commercial computer facility
