  • Abstract
There is a growing demand for transmission links conveying digital sound programme signals from one studio or country to another. The MUSICTAXI in combination with the Dialog4 combiner can be used with an intermediate compression ratio of 4. The implementation of MUSICAM coded signals enables up to seven high quality stereo programmes to be broadcast in a 2 MHz bandwidth channel. The DAB network is used to guarantee end-to-end continuity of the digital chain from the production studio to the listener. At each level of the digital chain, the MUSICTAXI can be adapted to meet the relevant requirements. The ISDN is ideal for feeding the transmission stations
