Abstract
In this paper, the allowable sampling frequency is analyzed for practical quadrature RF-sampling receivers, in which the carrier frequency changes within a certain band whilst the RF selectivity is fixed. A method of choosing the optimal sampling frequency for the real system is also provided. The sampling frequency chosen according to this method would be the lowest sampling rate. Therefore, complexity and cost of the receiver could be kept at the lowest levels. The theory and the method provided in this paper are applicable to both zero-IF and low-IF receivers.
