  • Abstract
    A novel, ultra-wideband antenna element has been developed for broadband antenna array applications. It has novel asymmetric tapered slot structure and is fed by microstrip line. The antenna element can operate over an ultra-wideband from 1.5 GHz-9.5 GHz. A broadband antenna array composed by the novel antenna elements is also proposed. The asymmetric tapered slot antenna and its mirror image are placed alternately in the Hplane to form good array beam pattern with highest gain at broadside. The measured results indicate a good performance of this array.
