Abstract :
VADIS (video-audio digital interactive system) is a pan-European project on digital TV which has been set up within the Eureka collaborative research programme. The primary goal of the project is to develop the audiovisual coding technology, including microelectronics, required to enable the introduction of digital television within Europe at bit rates of up to about 10 Mbit/s.
