  • Abstract
The most significant European activity for enhanced compatible PAL is concentrated within the PALplus consortium. PALplus members comprise major European receiver and broadcast equipment manufacturers, together with broadcasters from Germany, Switzerland, Austria, and the UK. PALplus activities are separated into a number of working groups, one of which is studying aspects for PALplus in the production studio. The work broadly covers three areas, the studio standard, the production studio, and the studio centre including internal and external communications. The paper outlines some of the considerations of studio production for PALplus. Although PALplus is essentially a compatible transmission standard, the implications for studio productions and communications between studio centres are quite significant
