Abstract
A compact printed ultra-wideband (UWB) antennas with band-notched characteristic of size 30 mm times 35 mm are presented. The two designs are presented, the first antenna is designed to cover the Federal Communication Commission (FCC) bandwidth for UWB applications (3.1 - 10.6 GHz) and the second antenna is designed to cover the frequency band from 3 - 17 GHz. The two antennas are designed with a notch filtering at the IEEE 802.11a, frequency band (5.15 - 5.825 GHz). This band-rejection effect is obtained by introducing a slotted-parasitic patch on the bottom layer of the antenna.
