Abstract
The quality of international leased circuits is measured. The measured quality is the basis for subjective evaluation of high-efficiency coded voice and for experimental investigation of the transmission parameters appropriate for inter-LAN file transfer. As an example a triangular international corporate network linking Japan, the United Kingdom and the United States, constructed using these results, is presented. The appropriate speech coding rates and one-link voice digital transit configuration, the most appropriate packet size for inter-LAN file transfer, and guidelines for future international corporate networks design are all proposed
