Abstract :
The author looks qualitatively at some specific problems that arise in the management of heterogeneous networks and suggest how an OSI based approach could be employed to solve them. The approach is rather practical, first introducing real life problems that are encountered in heterogeneous networks and pointing out how solutions to these problems can be extended to generalized fault management applications
